Basic description
This report is a graphical representation (bubble chart) showing the level of non-performing loans by branch, and how this has changed over time. Hovering over a bubble reveals the gross loan portfolio and the number of loans for that branch, plus the non-performing loan percentage in total and by past due bands (30+, 60+, 90+, 180+ days). The Y axis ranks the branches by scale (number of outstanding loans or loan portfolio). The lower X axis ranks them by portfolio quality (past due percentage or specific past due band). Clicking on the dates on the upper X axis shows the scale and portfolio quality for each month of history. The report can be further refined to focus in on business lines, product groups or specific products.
Uses
This report allows managers to compare all branches at a glance in terms of their importance to the business and the risks they pose, and to see how this position has progressed over time. For example, high growth areas can be quickly identified, as can emerging risks. Selecting business areas (product classes), product groups or products allows the use to see, for example, how a new product or product line is being adopted geographically. Similarly, areas of emerging stress in mortgages, credit cards or car loans can be identified.
