Deposit Rate Analysis

Basic description

The focus of this report is to present the weighted average rate of the deposits (new or all outstanding) by business line and product, with the option to further refine by region or branch. The report allows comparison of the number, value and weighted average rate of deposits against previous month or the same month last year. Non-interest-bearing deposits can be excluded.

Uses

This report allows managers to monitor the medium and longer-term retail funding trends for a business line or product in both volumes and weighted interest rates. Selection of just the new deposits accentuates the trend and can highlight how funding volume is responding positively or negatively to changes in interest rates, as does exclusion of the non-interest-bearing deposits as these are not sensitive to interest changes. Further refinement by region or branch allows managers to see how these trends vary geographically.
